Whether a thread stays on the front page a day or less sometimes depends on whether Pat Mucci and me (and a few of the others) start arguing with each other or not.

But with the new, more visible and inclusive Golfclubatlas maybe we should just cut out that old prank!

Has anyone else noticed that the number of members jumped about 50 yesterday and was at 836 when I got in this  morning.

If you thought it was busy before, look out!

I must admit to being a newbie on the Discussion Board (prompted by SI piece), but a regular (logged MUCH time on site) at the site for about a year.

I love GCA - my favorite spot on the web - it has encouraged my delving into further research on architecture (Ross, MacKenzie, CBM).  That, and I'm lucky enough to play a CB MacDonald course regularly (SLCC), and have a far better grasp of its nuances, influences, etc.

Just here to learn more (and hopefully somewhat sate my appetite for the greatest game ever).......

I'll tell ya, there was a big grin on my face when I read what Ran said was the first GCA post... He left me a phone message after the interview but I was afraid it might end up on the edit room floor.  Glad it didn't.  Personally, I believe he was right in that first posting... ;)

BTW, renovations are moving along very well.  Bigger changes to No. 2 and 4 than originally planned including a larger landing area on No. 2 and three pot bunkers on the right side of No. 4 fairway really turning the hole left to right.  The 18th looks great tucked against the last dune next to the Atlantic.  I spoke to Armand at GolfWeek and he said there's a big response from raters for this September's Rater's Cup at Kiawah.  Hope we can get all of you Golf Digest panelists out there after it reopens on September 17th...
