The quality of the presentation via Blackberry has degraded somewhat for what surely must be for some unfathomable technical reason.

Phil,

I thought I was the only one crazy enough to try to read this website on a Blackberry...

Doug,

It's even worse.  Occasionally I post from my Blackberry, which is incredibly time-consuming.  Usually it's while commuting when I've got nothing better to do, but it's still sick.  We probably should have kept our dirty little secret.

Lots of changes for the better, but can someone tell me if they can see and use the BBC buttons for bolding etc described in the Help section.  I get the smileys but no buttons when I open a new topic or a reply.  Do you have to set a parameter to see them or are they not enabled on this board?

Phil and Doug:

The Blackberry browser stinks.  I have had much better results with the Opera Mini browser.  It works great on GCA.com, including the DG.  I almost never use the Blackberry browser any more.  Using your Blackberry browser, go to operamini.com for a free download.

A big thank you to Ran & Ben and the site designer for the improvement of the Search function.

Much easier to use, much more efficient.

The new feature that I hate is posting a reply only to have it not posted and a red message come up warning me that other responses had been made that I might wish to review first.

Just post the *#%^ thing. Don't hassle me with this.

I'm not a big fan of this either Garland...

I've found on more than one occasion when it comes up in the new page with the red warning, that when I again select post, the site hangs and then I lose my post.  >:(

So for now, everytime this happens, I always make sure to copy my post to the clipboard just in case so I can always re-enter the thread and paste it in without having to re-type it.

And what's with that 60 minute time limit on login?

Yes Craig, I know I can do that. It is just that the old time limit worked out quite well for me. On the pacific coast I joined the party late, and by the time it automatically logged me out, the party was essentially over for the day.

Apparently 60 minutes is the default as opposed to the 360 minutes on the old software. I'm sure if you asked nicely, Chris Sutton the administrator would change it.

So can you not look at other peoples profiles anymore?   Is this a new feature?

yea, I don't get this elimination, especially this cheeky preprogrammed reply . . .

Does the website not put your outgoing IMs in the outbox anymore?

Garland

Only if you tick the box to say you want it to.  I sent the same IM three times to one person before I spotted the box.  I thought the system wasn't working ;D

Andrew,

Better yet, there is now an option in your profile that you can choose to have all messages saved. No need to bcc yourself.
