Has Fred Couples worked with more architects..
« on: October 22, 2007, 08:22:22 AM »
than any other pro?

In the thread about new course coming Jeff Brauer mentions that he is working in Boom Boom on a course in Texas, bringing to at least 8 the number of architects/firms that he has worked with.

Gene Bates
Bob Cupp
Jeff Brauer
JMP Golf Design
Schmidt/Curley
Pete/Perry Dye
Love Design
Todd Eckenrode

And those are just the ones I know.

Any pro worked with more?

Brad,

          How about "associated"?

I read in one interview that his job is to bring "vision" to the process.  Is that  akin to strategy?

Thanks Greg, I have added Todd.

How does the player consultant get paid?  Does the architect pay him? Does the client pay him?  Does the pro pay the architect?

Boom Boom sure gets around.

Craig,

It works all ways depending on the project.  I have paid the pro, the pro has paid me, and the Owner has paid us both separately, which probably best reflects what actually happens on site, and is preferred.

On my co-design with Fred, the Owner reserved the right to add a "name pro" to the design team for marketing reasons and then came up with Fred, who they had used before.

And I can assure you, he's had some other "ghostitechts".

Fred definitely needs something else to to on the 364 days opposite the Skins Game these days.

Cheers,

Jeff --

Have you ever met Fred?

I'm kinda disappointed the owner didn't choose Lanny Wadkins.

I have seen Freddy a few times at The Valley Club in Santa Barbara, where he's a member, and he seems like one of the boys there.  Wears shorts, pulls a pullcart with big wheels, will pretty much play with anybody from what I've been told.
