I'm not going to try any embarassing stabs so will just stick with #11, Swinley Forest looking back up the 1st fairway to green 18, obviously 14 is Merion and I know 17 is the Addington but not sure what hole.

Marc,

Right on all counts.  #14 is the 16th at Merion East, an unusual angle to a oft-photographed hole.  #17 is the 5th at Addington; eerily similar to the 16th at Manufacturers GCC in Philadelphia.

Isn't 17 the "Wodehouse" bunker (6th hole?)?

#1 Muirfield, 3rd hole from behind the green

#9 The Old Course, 5th hole about 150 yards from the green.

James B

ps I initially thought #10 was Beechtree 8th hole, but I was wrong.

Jeff,

Sorry, you're right.  It is the 6th hole at the Addington.

Eric,

Right course, wrong hole.

James,

Correct on #1 and #9.  Yes, you are wrong about #10.

Are they all holes designed by William Flynn?

:)

I'd guess #2 is the private Flynn course in Florida.... Indian Island something or other...

Wayne:

Great pics!

#1 -- a guess, but a Scottish Open rota course? Turnberry?

#2 -- Seminole?

#3 -- I've seen this, and am killing myself for not recalling it.

#4 -- A Flynn; Lancaster?

#5 -- St. Enodoc?

#6 -- Another Flynn -- PPike or The Country Club?

#7 -- Don't know, but love the look of that false-front, semi-skyline green.

#8 -- Myopia?

#9 -- Really has a Carnoustie look to it, though obviously not Spectacles.

#10 -- I've seen this as well, though not sure where it is.

#12 -- Tillie?

#13 -- Pennard?

#17 -- Addington or Alwoodley, I forget which one. Addington, I think.

#18 -- Another Flynn? This looks familiar, too.

#19 -- Has to be Shinny, because you probably couldn't/wouldn't do a picture thread without at least one of your favorite course.

I know that #14 is the 16th a Merion.

The only other one that struck me (maybe) is #10:  The 16th at Kittansett?

Edit:  I can say with confidence there are no photos of Myopia...

Yes, but he didn't send his address.

Mike N,

That would be too easy.  Thanks for the birdie ball!

Brad,

Two for two!

Phil,

Excellent job.  James got #1 correct: it is the 3rd at Muirfield.
Mike got #2, it is Indian Creek's 16th.
#4 is Lancaster...what hole?
#5 wrong country
#6 a Flynn but wrong state
#8 wrong
#9 wrong course, right country
#12 nope
#13 nope
#17 the 6th at Addington
#18 is a Flynn
#19 right you are...its' the 2nd as Gene mentioned.

#4 is the 4th hole at Lancaster.  Good golf course.

That's all I know.  Nice pictures.

Wayne,
Are you sure #2 isn't actually the 7th green at Indian Creek?

#8 is the Creek Club, 9th fairway on the right, 12th? green on the left.

Thanks for posting these. A great collection.

Craig:
Actually I believe that #8 is the 12th at The Creek taken from the 9th fairway. #8 at Creek is a par 3 (redan).

Is 6 = #18 Cascades (Lower)?  If so, that pond used to be a swimming hole -- with a net to protect bathers!

Thanks for the effort, Wayne!

#13 could be St Andrews New #8.

#2 looks like Doral Blue #1.

But I could be completely wrong!  :P
