Does anyone have detailed course info for Red Hawk in Temecula, CA ?

A friend of a friend is playing in a pre-qualifying event for Seniors Q-School and could use advice.

Thanks

Prepare for:

Relatively tight fairways.

Huge greens with an *average* of 4 tiers each; poa annua. Tiers, tiers, tiers everywhere.

Greens are perched up so many/most short game shots are played from below the level of the green (rough, not fairway) or from relatively deep bunkers.

Drawing the shapes of the greens during the practice round would be hugely time consuming, and very tough. Your friend should ensure that there's a yardage book available, or else draw the shapes of the greens from Google Earth beforehand, if he's into that sort of thing.

Mike, I have the yardage book. I don't have time now, but I'll try to post it later.

Mike,

This should give you an idea of what your friend should expect;

Back before having a high Slope Rating was chic and trendy, about 15 years back when I played there, the slope from the tips was 149.   ::)

Mike, here you go. I'll have to defer to Matt on the current accuracy since I haven't played it in a while.....

Yeah, it's right generally, although that oblique view doesn't really help with the shape of the greens.

So I'll re-emphasize that if your friend likes to map out the greens, he should use Google Earth to draw the shapes correctly before he goes to play the course. It will save a lot of frustration.

If your friend isn't familiar with how to do this, message me.

PS, just note the green depths - 8 of them are 40+ yards deep!
