Our posts crossed and thanks for that four hole info. Very interesting! I wish I'd known that as it would have been fun to look at the progression and space for those old holes. It makes sense as some of those houses to the left of #10 probably aren't all that old--correct? The road must have demarked the property and the golf course back then. Would that be correct?

Anyway, all in all Lancaster is a really wonderful golf course for a whole variety of reasons.

Next I'd like to talk about the individual holes and what makes them all so good!

    You are correct that the original 8 & 9 extended to the road.  The location of the 9th green was in approximately the same location as the pitching/chipping green to the right of the 10th tee. Although the houses along the border of the 10th fairway were erected after construction of the course my guess is that the majority of them are over 50 years old, a field which bordered the property was there in their place.
