Hi all,
Just got back from Bandon - I am debating posting my thoughts on the course but figured I would post here. We had four caddies for most of six rounds we played. I had Aaron Moreno (Great tip Jason). He was as good a caddie as I have ever had and we had a blast picking on him and teasing him. He truly is extraordinary at his job. Mikey had Pete Bauer (Another great tip Mr. Daley). He was an absolute prince and terrific at his job. We met up with his wife one night in town. No surprise but a great family man as well. Jimmy had Sasha and was quite content. I disagree with any over rated comments. She ended up with the flu and we got a replacement who was a young kid named Marcus. He is still learning the place but I would comfortably recommend him to anyone.
On the down side, we also had the single worst caddie I have ever come across. He was a musician and I have blanked out his name. He was a late substitution and tried to sabotage the experience for us. I finally had his player tell him that if he said one more criticism to Jimmy or I, he was done and could walk in. I have never done that before. What a bitter prick. On 17, frankly I was pissed enough that I actually considered throwing a punch. We decided to walk the last round, so as to never see him again.
My conclusion, if your caddie has a face that looks like he has lived way too hard a life and says he is a musician, run. If not, caddies were certainly worth several shots a round and defintely worth the $80+ that they cost (Especially Aaron, Pete and Sasha).
