Bayonet and Black Horse
« on: July 23, 2007, 04:06:03 PM »
Has anybody played at Fort Ord since Gene Bates has done his redo there? I understand that the Bayonet is completed and Black Horse is still being worked on. Maybe Mr Huntley or the Bay Area guys have some info?

There is an article on the new front nine at Bayonet, I don't think the back has been completed, in the July issue of Golf Today Magazine.

Let us know what you think.
I love golf, the fightin irish, and beautiful women depending on the season and availability.

There's an blurb on this in the new GCA magazine. Remind me to bring along with your Finegan book the next time we play a certain "top 100 course in OC".

Scheduled to re-open in 2009, concurrent with the hotel and the new "wide-open" Blackhorse. The old front 9 is complete...but it is now the back 9 per the article. Lots of blinding white sand. I can't believe they trashed the old 7th green :'(.
You'd make a fine little helper. What's your name?

From what I read and hear, the very soul of golf shrieks at what they've done to what once was a very unique golf course.  But I too have not seen it yet.  I'm not sure I want to.  My game gives me enough anguish as it is.
