In all seriousness, you wouldn't at least mention the dicey area as you told visitors about the course?  Would you comfortably send your parents there, if they were golfers?

Interesting.  Perhaps you're more used to dicey areas than at least some of us locals.  This is likely another California micro-world view thing.  By California standards, the surrounds of Gleneages are worth mentioning and worth being on guard about.

I was only held up at gunpoint once, but I had the good fortune to also get pistol whipped and I would not dissuade people from playing Gleneagles.

Fair enough, and I realized i'm biased on this one.  However at the same time, I would say my spidey-senses are a bit more tuned in than the average joe in wanting to avoid this scenario again.

So for whatever it worth, when going thru that neighborhood, my internal alarm bells go off.  I'll leave it at that.

I seem to remember one a little north of The Dunes Club called Signal Point being OK.
