Snedeker to Torrey Pines: DROP DEAD!
« on: January 25, 2007, 02:24:36 PM »
At one point this morning, David Duval was alone in 1st place (4 under through 4), while Tiger Woods was tied for last (2 over through 4).

But that's not the news.

The news is: Brandt Snedeker (Nationwide Tour grad; bears more than a passing resemblance to Alfred E. Neuman) shot a nifty little 27 on the par-36 back 9 at Torrey Pines North. He stands at 9-under through 9: birdie, birdie, birdie, birdie, eagle, birdie, birdie, par, birdie.

I only hope he isn't 16 years old.

I guess I need to write better headlines.

Take it away, latecomer thread!

Maybe they should play the Open on the North Course.  That would certainly liven it up.

Try "OT--10 under through 10 at the Buick"

I'm sure this will be a boon to all the GCA's on here when every Tom, Dick and Harry is going to try to "Snedeker-proof" his golf course

A Nashville native and Vandy man.  This could be the year of the hillbilly.

My nephew played a lot of junior and college golf with Snedeker.  Apparently he is a delightful guy with an attitude that will serve him well dealing with the ups and downs on Tour.

I love his swing.

I looked at his mug shot at pgatour.com and thought: "What, me worry?"

How do you say that in Hillbilly?

What a stellar round...

As a side note, an amazing thing is that the best score on the South today appears to be -3

Kind of funny that the guy with the best round on the South today starts tomorrow 8 shots back... But I guess they will have their chance to light it up tomorrow on the North...

Camilo Villegas is leading the South Course contingent at -5,
one player at -4. Marcano may finish last two weeks in a row.

Of the top 58 scores only 3 were shot on the South course.

This happens every year...perhaps this has something to do with it?

South Course 72/7607/143/78.1 (black)
North Course 72/6874/130/73.2 (Chmpshp)

Borrowing from another thread, now the golf writers have a lead for their Snedeker obit...

Of course, Torrey Pines might go first.
