A thread that won't suffer fools gladly, pahdna
« on: December 15, 2006, 01:21:44 PM »
just to say, Where's Matt Ward?

Has he been sent by some magazine to check out the latest public courses being built in northern Siberia and Azbekistan?  After all, how can we criticize any one Aleksei Vinarov designed course without playing all of them?    That kind of generalization is painting with a wide brushstroke, partner.

Why do I have the feeling that he's out there somewhere, doin' the heavy lifting?   ;D

He definitely has to be out there where the rubber meets the road.

I tried to google up the New Jersey golfer for a phone #.  No luck...  Do you have an old copy of The New Jersey Golfer, that might list a phone?  I'm looking now...
No actual golf rounds were ruined or delayed, nor golf rules broken, in the taking of any photographs that may be displayed by the above forum user.

I got an IM from him on Nov 28. He didn't want to take my Hideout vs. Links ND challenge. Guess that must mean he is not himself these days.  :D

Mike,

I just looked at the most recent post as well...did you notice the implication of that post? Let's just say loud and clear so Moriarty and MacWood hear it...you don't mess with Philadelphia Jim Finnegan. You'll have Muscles Morrison and Tomahawk TEP on your a** so fast you'll have to run to Florida like Mucci did when he asked the same question a few weeks later.

Were there any parking lots built in North Jersey in the last month?

I think he's at Myrtle Beach preparing an article on what he considers to be the Mecca of American GCA. :-\

Jim,

I'd like to show you what they did to the last guys snooping around here asking about Whigham and Macdonald's "advisory" role at Merion, but I can't find any pieces left big enough.

Some bad, bad dudes those guys.  Especially when Tom Paul gets chasin' the dragon and freebasing with Huge "Puffy" Wilson and his posse, you simply don't want to be hanging anywhere around because somebody's gonna get popped.

If a player insists on playing his maximum power on his tee-shot, it is not the architect's intention to allow him an overly wide target to hit to but rather should be allowed this privilege of maximum power except under conditions of exceptional skill.

Live Jupiter, Fl, was  4 handicap, played top 100 US, top 75 World. Great memories, no longer play, 4 back surgeries. I don't miss a lot of things about golf, life is simpler with out it. I miss my 60 degree wedge shots, don't miss nasty weather, icing, back spasms. Last course I played was Augusta

George,

Thanks for letting us know.  I was beginning to get concerned.

Now we can go back to busting his chops.  ;)
