My first choice would be to head down under and see my baby, plus Royal Melbourne East & West, Kingston Heath, Commonwealth, St Andrews Beach and New South Wales. A couple rounds at each would do the trick.

My realistic choice would be to brave the cold and tour the marvelous mom and pop courses of Butler County, PA....

I'd also be happy plunking down in Ireland, England, Wales or Scotland and joining some fellow gca'ers for a dozen rounds. Heck, I'd even let them choose - how could you go wrong?

Do it, man.  The exchange rate not withstanding, you'll love a visit to the Quaker City.  Some of the greatest golf in the world and of course, cheesesteaks.  It is a combination you can't beat anywhere  

If my wife were to buy me such a gift, I think I'd start heading West from Philadelphia and keep on going.  If you get far enough away, you'll be on your way back home (T Waits)

You know, when I look at that list and at my March/April 2006 experience, I start to believe in Father Xmas, the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy.  Either that or I am indeed blessed, and thankful.

As much as I'd enjoy playing a number of courses, as a gift I'd much rather spend time in the company of the friends on this site.  Daley, Hancock, Huckaby, Goodale, Arble, Wigler, Thomas, Fry, Schmidt, McBride, Silis, and Goldman would make up twelve pretty good days.  For the sake of my liver, I might have to rearrange the list here and there but this is what I think of when it comes to the holidays.

Andrew -- you did say one golfing destination per day, not one course.  So I would choose destinations that have more than one course, and play 2-3 rounds per destination.  Assuming weather is not an issue, in the U.S., maybe something like this:

1.  Southampton I.  Play NGLA and Shinnie and one other
2.  Southampton II.  Friar's Head and Sebonack and one other
3.  Philadelphia.  Merion and PV and Phillie CC or Huntingdon if time
4.  Northern Michigan.  Crystal Downs and whatever else is close by (Kingsley?)
5.  SE Nebraska.  Sand Hills and Dismal River.  Hit Wildhorse if time
6.  NE CO/Denver: Ballyneal and Cherry Hills (?)
7.  LA: Riviera and LACC North and Bel-Air
8.  Carmel: PB and CPC and MPCC Dunes
9.  SF: Olympic Lake and SFGC and Pasa
10. Bandon: all three courses
11. General NYC area: Fishers and Maidstone
12. Pittsburgh: Oakmont and ?

Could have lots of fun arranging similar plays in Ireland and the UK, and probably Australia too.
