Is the 10th hole at Seminole the easiest looking hole
« on: November 20, 2006, 11:06:19 AM »
that plays very difficult ?

Is the architecture deceiving, hiding in plain sight, the perils that greet the unsuspecting golfer ?

On the card, the hole appears short to medium in length, fairly straight, with little in the way of hazards/bunkers off the tee.

But, the wind changes everything about the play of the hole.

A tail wind brings the water on the left into play on the drive.
A head wind brings the water on the left into play on the approach.
A right to left wind probably does both and
A left to right wind is probably the kindest, but rarest.

The green is a semi penisula, slightly elevated, canted back to front.

The hole appears benign, yet, high scores seem to be the norm.

If someone could post an aerial of the hole it would further the discussion.

Pat, I did not find it to be one of the harder holes on the course. It would seem to be more often than not played with a cross wind. Yet, I found the shot to the green very tough given the wind. Aaron, It is winter now and Pat has moved the discussion to his Florida hangouts. Besides ND played the Rumsfelds this weekend so it was an easy romp over a good looking, well dressed but underskilled group.
