The Vancouver Sun today posted a story announcing a new development near Ucluelet which is in the midst of some spectacular coastline on mid way up the coastline of Vancouver Island. The area is about a 4 hour drive once you get off a ferry from Vancouver to Nanaimo and would also be close to a 6 hour drive from Victoria.
Looks like it is primarily a housing development with the Nicklaus name to help sell the place. The area is very windy and known for its winter storms. Temperate climate would mean it would be playable most of the year.
I do not recall a lot of sand dunes in that area so I assume the course will be situated above the shoreline. I think it is worth following in the future as the setting can be spectacular and there would appear to be a chance to build a "links like" course out there.
