I have a customer 50 miles away from Green Lake, would definitely have a shot at doing this trip.  Would like to see Erin Hills as well.

Merry Christmas,

I hope we get this one going -- we need a Midwest GCA gathering. I'm in.

Agreed.

Wasn't somebody trying to organize an outing to another old relatively unknown course in the vicinity late last fall? I couldn't find the thread but maybe we should plan on both?
I would love to join the trip.

Wife?????

I'm not coming!   ;D  Isn't that a violation of some type of Man/GCA-law?

Very interested.

I could arrange something at West Bend CC.  We have a Langford nine built at the same time as Lawsonia.

Fall of 2007 would be fantastic.  It would be nice to get away from Ferris for a while at that time of the year.  Heard great things about Lawsonia and would love to get together with a bunch of GCAers.

Jonathan,

You are at Ferris?! I was there for a year before moving to the west coast. I was in Hallisy, what an education.

I hope Big Rapids treats you well.

Dick Daley, Mike McGuire and I have agreed to explore the possibility of organizing a sanctioned GCA event based around the architecture of Langford and Moreau and Lawsonia in the Fall.

We will report in a few weeks what we are able to put together.

Keep those statements of interest coming.

Dan,

Don't you need be wearing a special hat or something to officially "sanction" a GCA event?

Jason, we all got our official planner hats for "sanctioned events - didn't you get yours?  Here is one of the cool kids in the pack wearing his... doing some special planning.

I'd definitely come out of retirement for this and would likely have at least one more interested as well.

I would like to get up there to see it.

Keep in mind that Dixie Cup is a fall event, usually in the month of October. Buda Cup has traditionally been a fall event as well, but there was talk of having it in May 07. I think a third Fall event would be one too many.

Not for me. I'm too far from Dixie, and I won't be getting overseas anytime soon.

Ran, just informed me that his vacation and time-off schedule will be consumed by the efforts at Cabot Links.  (Boy, I'd love to have an issue like that constraining me!)  ;D

At any rate, we are on our own to now figure out a time of year, and details of the rota.  Dan and Mike, I'll send you an IM and we should think about setting up a winter meeting in Milwaukee area between the three of us, and anyone else that would like to join in.

I am interested in participating. I'd really enjoy hooking up with the people here and doing it at a truely great course.

We'll use this thread for a preliminary list of who wants to come.  But, we will undoubtedly post a more definitive thread later in the year for the actual details, lodging choices, and other courses that we can sample.  We can explore potential guest architecture speakers for a specific banquet gathering, and some sort of playing formats for the various rounds.  I know one thing, after this year's Dixie Cup, I won't, repeat won't be a team Captain.  It was hard being ridden out of the south on a rail...  ;) ;D 8)

Anyone with ideas for speakers or panel participants, like Geoff Shack (hint hint) or others who might attend, that would be great if you could suggest some.
