Lets hope so. I would love to see it. I bet he would have parred 18.

He's really come a long ways.  16th in the Open.  Just think of where he was two years ago at Shinny.  It would be great to see him win.

How about a Duval/Monty playoff at The Open Championship this year?  Who would you root for?

They said that after Congressional too (though this time I happen to agree...unfortunately)

Not sure how US Open exemptions differ from Tour exemptions, but is Duval exempt for next year's Open?  This is year 5, and 16th place is one spot out of an exemption for Oakmont.

Nope.  He'll need to work his way into this year's top 30 money list or play really well at the beginning of next year.  But making the cut this year does get him a pass into sectional qualifying for next year.

Guys, just wondering if NBC showed any of Double D yesterday during their coverage? I wasn't able to watch a lot of the golf yesterday.

Only briefly, and early in the telecast.  I remember showing him hitting an approach and he was +9 at the time (which would have made him -1 on his round for the day)

Let's hope Duval earns at least another $51,000 (as of today)to get to the 124th spot on the money list so he is eligble to play the Tour next season, or else he will have to use his one time exemption as one of the top 50 money winners to have full time status next season.

There are times where he looks quite solid, so that must be quite encouraging for him.

He could do it - nothing's impossible...

He will win this year.....

Duval has come along better than I thought and I'll give him credit for a fantastic effort at Winged Foot.

I will disagree that he will win this year.  He plays a limited schedule and the tournaments he plays in have many of the big 5 players.

Except getting a par on 18 if your last name is Mickelson, Montgomerie, Furyk or Harrington.

Or maybe he would have gagged like a toddler!  Who the heck knows?  If it were Duval and Mickelson in that last group and I had to bet, I'd put the money on lefty, since he's thrown up a lot more birdies than psychological vomit in the past five years.  Duval, on the other hand...well let's be charitable and say it's nice to see his game is on the mend!
