Take a look at John Hawkins piece on the greens:

Michael and the rest of you gentlemen,
I have been fortunate to have been invited to compete in several John G. Anderson tournaments over the years, although I haven't been back since I permanently banished my clubs to the garage almost 5 years ago.  But whether or not you've been to the Foot in person or seen it on television, I have never seen such excellent photos that truly reflect the nature of the golf course.
Amateur photographer or not, well done Michael.

How long was #3 playing for TW to hit fairway metal?
The card has it at 243 yards.  Tiger can hit his 2-iron 270, so I imagine he could hit 2-iron, 3-iron, or even 4-iron here.

But I think he carries the 5-wood to get a higher trajectory on these shots into the green.

Great photos.  Thank you so much for sharing.

What kind of camera did you use (if you don't mind me asking)?

Those greens are incredible.  Sink or swim to be a member there.  I can't imagine how well their members do when they play outside the club.  Other greens must seem juvenile to them.

You don't have to ask; the information is in the .JPG file.  It's a Canon PowerShot G3, then fixed up (or just resized, perhaps) with Adobe PhotoShop CS on a Macintosh.

This makes the achievement even more outstanding, as this is a 5-year-old 4-megapixel point-and-shoot camera.

Michael:

I believe your composite of pictures does in fact capture the ferocity of the 18th green very well. Thanks for sharing.

For this photo, where was Stevie ... ?

With modern digital cameras, shutterclicks should be silent ...

Mike,

I may not be a professional photographer, but I do have common sense and understand what is appropriate and what isn't. I turned off the shutter sound on my camera so I would not distract Tiger. And Steve Williams can't do anything anyways since it is a practice round and cameras are allowed.
