We need to have one this summer.

Lederach or Cobbs Creek?

July 8 or 15 or 22?

Let me know asap and I'll try to get it together.

Steve,

Friday the 21st @ Lederach would work perfect for my schedule, but obviously you should not build around me.

If you would like to put something together at Lederach please contact our GM Gene Pleyo. I am sure he will accomodate with a package. I played a few holes there with Gene two weeks ago. Gene is an excellent player and may be interested in participating. You may want to try to coordinate with Kelly Blake Moran. I am curious to hear about his design objectives.

How about a double header?

For those who would like to take off from work on a summer Friday, I'm thinking July 21 at Lederach.

For those who are dedicated workers, let's do Cobbs Creek on Saturday July 22.

Any thoughts?

Steve:

I'm game for the date at Lederach.

The 21st in July would work for me. But if another date works for more people so be it.

The summer outing has been scheduled for Friday, July 21 at Lederach GC, the new course in Harleysville, PA designed by Kelly Blake Moran. I have made 5 tee times (20 players) beginning at 11am, giving those from distance time to arrive and stay afterwards for a presentation by KBM who has agreed to be with us. I'll see if Joe Logan can attend for a point/counter point discussion of his review with KBM. ;D

I am still waiting from other GCA stalwarts for their RSVP. Perhaps Pat Mucci can arrange for a pass for TEPaul.

Please let me know by July 14 so that things can firmed up with the club. Guests are invited. Matt Ward can play from the tips;otherwise, choose your own tees. ;D

For those unable to attend, let me know if you can play Cobbs Creek on Saturday, July 22 and I'll make those arrangements.

Directions can be found at the club's website:

In light of the old thread being bumped and Mike Cirba's new thread, I am bumping this so that there will be 3 threads on the first page. Anyone who wants to play and throw darts at or praise KBM on July 21, please sign up now. If you haven't played here yet, you're in for a treat.

I played Lederach for the third time today. Guess who was in the group ahead of me? Yes, none other than our own Redanman, Bill V. We played the last 4 holes together. It's a small world. I feel that I'm getting the hang of this course. If only my execution were better.

In any event, I am pleased to report the rating/slope for the course has been changed after a reassessment by GAP. Here are the new numbers for the blue tees from which most will play on July 21:

6624y, 71.8/134

I am sat on a Boeing back to Europe writing this post after playing Lederach about 10 hours ago with KBM.(35000 ft...)

Anyone who does not have a blast on that course playing matchplay should quit golf!!  A couple of MAD holes (KBM knows which ones I mean) but KBM should be very PROUD of what he has done there.

This after playing Stonewall, Merion and Pine Valley in the same week.

The only thing letting KBM down is the maintenance budget and that is not his fault...

It's not that far from NJ or MD or DC. Lederach is located near the Lansdale exit of the NE Extension(I-476) of the PA Turnpike.
It's worth the the trip. See Brian Phillips comments on the other thread.

I think I can make it to your Lederach outing, Steve, that is if there is room.  Having met Kelly several times, I look forward to playing my first round on one of his courses.
