Andy, Gary

Let me know if you are interested in playing Starr's Mill this weekend or next week.  I have not played it and have always be curious.

Thanks.

Would be interested, but no-can-do.  This is the next-to-last weekend of baseball for my kids.  Will soon be free from the tyranny of the spring baseball schedule.

Right on cue.. a little news from Cherokee Run.  There are two new sets of tees on #17, both back in the woods and both offset a bit to make the dogleg less severe.  The tees are far back enough that I was able to hit my "little" driver and cut the dogleg.  It worked out better than any 5 or 4 iron I've ever hit from the original tees, and it makes it a much better hole, although the layup remains a bit problematic.  But an improvement for sure.

I saw deer, rabbits, no houses, smelled honeysuckle and tea olive and played until utter pitch dark.  Can't say enough good about that course.

Gary - interesting news.  I haven't been out there in about a year, so I need to get out there to see those changes.

I do love that property - it's just beautiful.

Andy,

Back to #18 at CR.

The blindness of the drive seems a bit extreme to me, especially for an 18th hole.  I think a finishing hole should open up a bit more.  Plus, it's basically un-doable.  I played in a foursome yesterday where we all hit really nice drives, and none of us hit the green.  If I carried a 3-iron in my bag I might have made it, but that's another story.

Update on the Palmer Course at Starr's Mill - it has been purchased by Canongate Golf and is now a private club called Whitewater Creek - http://www.canongategolf.com/index.cfm?menu=3659
