Ed - my parents live about 1/2 hour from Simi Valley - lodging will NOT be an issue for trips to Rustic Canyon!

And I've just also been informed by the best source that May is indeed VERY optomistic.  So OK, this ain't gonna work.  Back to the drawing board...

I tell ya what though, the minute someone declares that course playable, I am making the drive FOR SURE.  We'll talk about this bright and early Sunday, Ed!

Tom,
Our parents are wasting resources! Two homes near Rustic is overkill, we need to convince one set of parents to move up to Bandon, OR. :D

Tom H.,
We didn't have a chance to talk at length about choosing a location and the other thing I was wondering about is the fundraising aspect of the gathering. I was thinking an auction would be one way to do it. I have a golf book collection that I would be willing to donate a couple of books from for this cause. Let me know if I can help. Hope you had a Merry Xmas. :)

Erich - well, it wasn't any fundraiser and it was made very clear to us that it was an UNOFFICIAL event... but a bunch of regulars here played Barona Creek in April 2002 and had a wonderful time.  Most of the legwork was done by Ed Getka and Pete L. hosted a party to end all...  We'll do some sort of repeat some time next spring as well, somewhere different.  Unofficial, not-golfclubatlas sanctioned, of course.

To the Treehouse:

East, West, South, North.  Depending on the date and my business travel schedule count me in.  I'll even try to drag along Ed Baker.

However as a reminder contributions are graciously and gladly accepted by Ran.  Click on the CONTRIBUTIONS tab on the left.

The tournament is a great idea but c'mon everybody Chip in a little (no pun intended Chip Oat) prior to that.

March and April are generally good almost anywhere.  If I can help let me know.  Someone has to take charge and get it going.

Best
Dave

What happened?

Has interest faded already?  This is a good idea how do we keep it alive?

Calling Bill Spellman.  Have you given up already?

Best,
Dave

Dave - as I say above, this idea morphed into our outing at Barona Creek last year (notice the dates on all this).  I'm sure something will get set up for a repeat in 2003 as well... and if you Boston fellows would agree to be there, then obviously attendance and interest would shoot through the roof!   ;)

I haven't given up yet! I made a half hearted attempt to set something up at Beechtree this past spring, but I couldn't make it work so I WILL try again for next spring.

        Updates later

Bill and Huckster:

Sorry I never bothered to look at the dates but this is still a good idea.

I will personally drag E.H. Baker, IV along.  Well get him to come anyway.  Ain't nobody gonna' drag that much anywhere ;D

Huckster Let's get started.  I'm in the SF and Monterey area anyway in March so if timed right the Left Coast works for me.
Best,
Dave
