PBA Galleries Auction April 13, 1PM PDT
« on: April 03, 2006, 07:45:01 PM »
Time for another edition of their golf book auction, along with other items. If you live near the bay area previewing starts at 1pm on the 12th. There are over 500 lots. A link to the catalog is: http://www.pbagalleries.com/live/sale_details.php?s=329&&PHPSESSID=b03b6428174d3f1927fcaa9d736ae845

Books that I think are of interest to GCA are by Adamson, Augusta (1973), Campbell, Darwin, Doak, Hunter, Hutchinson, Macdonald, Mackenzie, Pine Valley, Prestwick (Shaw, Smail), Royal Cinque Ports, Royal Liverpool, Simpson, Sutton, Thomas, Tillinghast, Wind, Wodehouse, numerous batchings of books start at lot 483.

My book budget is done for the year, so I'm sitting this one out.

Peter:

How do we find out what the lots actually sold for?

"Prices realized" on the left side menu. You'll get real time prices, can bid on-line real time, also. Their estimates are usually pretty accurate, and near the top end of their range.
Then you add in the 15%.

Peter,
You forgot to list one. The Robert Trent Jones book is rarely seen, although they project a pretty high price that I don't think they will get. I would love to attend, but unfortunately I will be in Hawaii. I know, I know poor me, but after 10 family trips there I am SO over it. :P

Ed,
You can still bid on-line from Hawaii. Mentally put a $1K on the books I listed, which is why the 3K-5K Jones book was overlooked. Hope you're not trying to escape the rain by going to Hawaii.

The bloom is off. This is the first time I've seen PBA auctions prices go at or below their lower range level. Doak's autographed original Guide still went for a $1000 bid. Here are prices realized, which include a 15% surcharge http://www.pbagalleries.com/live/prices_realized.php?s=329&PHPSESSID=b03b6428174d3f1927fcaa9d736ae845&PHPSESSID=b03b6428174d3f1927fcaa9d736ae845
