Prestwick, Musselburg or St. Andrew's - take your pick - you can not choose poorly.

If we get hit by an asteroid - it won't really matter if it misses the course since our planet will change drasticly anyway.

Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx -- The only course in the world that is accessible by subway, has been a dumping ground for the mob and has had a burnt-out car in play...  :)

Dignity and stateliness are found in abundance at the Pinehurst Resort, even though it is a very busy public facility.  The old Carolina Inn is dignified to the point of being downright boring at night, most of the local action is at the Pine Crest Inn, with some overflow at Duggan's.  The surroundings, including the private homes in neighborhood, are beautifully kept and all very accessible.  The golf, at least the courses at the clubhouse, is played on immaculately maintained grounds.  It reeks of old money but is much more accessible these days.  The roque on the courts in front of the clubhouse has transmogrified into lawn bowling, which doesn't have that old cachet, but overall, yes it is quite dignified at Pinehurst.

Mark,

Back to the music.  :)

Do you remember the movie with Osacr winning Geoffrey Rush playing the part of an  Australian pianist with savant properties?

After all the strang und durm of bravura piano gymnastics, the movie ended and the credits ran, for quite a long time. It was then that I heard a voice from out of this world (eborah York) singing 'Nulla inmundo pax sincera'. Quite the most etheral and "dignified" piece of music I'd heard in many a year.

Dignity???

As to golf???

In keeping  with prevailing interpretation on this thread

Dignity is to golf/religion

as Shinnecock is to shrine/church
