Please look closely at the topo, as Tom Doak stated, some of those slopes are so steep that they couldn't retain a golf ball.

Since Tom Fazio is the present architect involved with the continual changes to ANGC, should I assume for discussion purposes that I also have free rein with his army of Bulldozers, cranes, and assorted heavy equipment?

Feel free to alter the golf course in any manner you choose.

Just remember, you're a minimalist hawk, or leopard, and can't change your spots.

I believe that examining the topos will reveal a wonderful routing and the creation of a great golf course that's withstood the test of time and a great number of alterations.

Despite all of the architects invovled, professional and amateur, the golf course remains great.

That didn't happen by accident.

It happened because the original designer/s did a spectacular job at routing the golf course and creating the individual holes on an unusual piece of property.

Well..I've learned that there is about 140 feet of elevation change on the property.

I was hoping for less.  

And yes, I was just kidding about bulldozing the land into submission.  I won't change a thing and will move dirt in spoonfuls.

You've viewed the golf course for years on TV and were lucky enough to be on the property.

Unfortunately, most visitors focus on the golf course, the actual holes, and rarely look beyond them to the off areas.

The more you study the terrain, the more I think you'll come around to thinking that Dr Mac and RTJ did a great job in the routing and hole design.

I can't wait until April 6th
