Introducing O.L. & L.O. New
« on: March 21, 2006, 03:09:23 PM »
I went up to play North Wales this weekend.  On the Saturday we played North Wales GC in about 4 degree temps and 25 mph winds.  Let me tell you it was cold!  The course is mainly non-descript save for a handful of holes.  However, nothing prepared me for O.L. & L.O.!  These are two super holes and back to back.  They are both par 3s AND they cross.  Old time golf indeed.

From the tee of O.L.  A 145 yarder.  L.O. tee on the left.

Behind O.L. green.

Not to be outdone, L.O. follows.  This is truly a great par 3.  T. Doak doesn't talk this hole up in his guide, but he should have.  It is about 125, but I was hitting either 5 or 6 iron (I played these two holes four times each) from a well elevated tee.

Tee shot.

Sean,

What great pictures!  I know those holes and this course well  You capture its essence beautifully.  I'll look at your other pictures before commenting further.
