Congratulations are in order to Forrest Richardson.  He was just selected as the winner of the Golf Inc. Magazine's "Renovation of the Year" competition.  His work at The Wigwam Golf Resort & Spa won the first place
award in the category of daily fee courses.

Now I know what he was doing with all his time the last few years while I was busy working on our book  ;D

Well done Forrest and surely well deserved!

Fun to play and beautifully restored.  I'm sure there is a lot of buzz about the new 18th hole, which my son says is sort of a reverse Road Hole, with the straight canal on the left side playing the part of both the sheds and the road!

Congratulations Forrest!

Congratulations, Forrest.  Does the magazine differentiate between a renovation and a restoration?  What exactly do they mean by a renovation?

Does this mean the first round of drinks are on you at Pinehurst?

Congratulations Forrest.

I thought the award might have been for Buena, but maybe that's next year at Olivas instead.

Congratulations Forrest.

Having played Wigwam Gold in November, I can understand why the award was given to Forrest. Congratulations!!!!

I've had the pleasure of playing WigWam Gold 4 times over the past couple months (3 rounds which were Gateway/Grey Goose Tour) and Forrest did a FANTASTIC job on a piece of land that for the most part is flatter than flat. His work around the greens and the bunkering is the the most pronounced, but the bottom line is that Forrest returned the Gold to what is once was, which is a serious test of golf if you choose to play from the backs... GREAT JOB, Forrest... Now, when are you going to make your way up to DM so we can play Outlaw :-)

I looked on their site and they only show one hole behind a sunflower. Anywhere we can see the before and after pictures?
Live Jupiter, Fl, was  4 handicap, played top 100 US, top 75 World. Great memories, no longer play, 4 back surgeries. I don't miss a lot of things about golf, life is simpler with out it. I miss my 60 degree wedge shots, don't miss nasty weather, icing, back spasms. Last course I played was Augusta
