Mark have a look for a report with pictures by Philip Gawith either December or January last.  Yes it's also by Abercromby.

Aber was said to have gone up in a balloon in order to find the routing for the course.  Bobby Jones said that the 14th was one of the finest holes of that length he had played (a short par 4).  Bing Crosby said that it was 'perfect for those without the physical strength of yesteryear.'  There are a number of strong longish 2-shotters and a really good set of short holes, though it doesn't, for me, have the advantage of the Addington's terrain.  Its membership is predominently Jewish.  The clubhouse is almost on the scale of an American Country Club and if you can afford the substantial green fee it offers a very enjoyable day's golf.  It can get a bit muddy in winter.  The current professional is Craig de Foy, a past European Tour golfer and his wife, Tina, is secretary.  Previous professionals have included Open Champions Sandy Herd, Arthur Havers, Henry Cotton and Dick Burton.

This course recieved a great deal of attention when it was built (1910?) and it was hailed as one of the great modern designs. Willie Park-Jr. assisted Abercomby.

They’ve done a lot of restoration work recently with Ken Brown and Ken Moody with a substantial tree removal programme though I’m not sure if the new bunkering is that faithful to the original.
Murrey Long there superintendent has now moved to Sunningdale.

Here’s a link to an article.
