I also agree it is a very good course. Scenic, too, besides the architecture. IMO, it is as good as another of Fazio's (built at the same time) that is high on several of the lists, which I found to be overrated.
Big beef that it's not walkable, and that has to do with the journeys from greens to next tees.
I walked it (with a caddie) and didn't find it to be that bad. Like you said, some of the uphill treks to some of the tees were steep. I just took a few seconds to catch my breath and enjoy the scenery (there was practically no one around).

wire's house being built (at the time) on top of one of the hills. Several other athletes are members there....and supposedly Jim Rome doesn't play golf.
