Strath Bunker

I am wondering if the Strath Bunker was named after George Strath, the first professional of Troon, or was it another chap named Strath?

If so, does anyone know why it was named after him?

Ahhh...wasn't it Davie Strath, a player of renown at St. Andrews?

As your reference above states, it was named after all the Strath brothers.  Primarily Davie, but also George and Andrew (1865 Open champion), all of whom died young.
