Tommy,

Interesting, living in the Philly area, I don't really consider Lulu to be unknown, but in the context of everything Philly, it very much is outside of the region. Especially with Manufacturer's right next door.

I do feel it is VERY underrated, especially following the Ron Forse work. Steve Sayers and Steve (?) Philmeyer are a credit to that club for the extensive research and commitment to restoration they have put forth.

JNCLyon,

West Shore may have seen some redesign work by the Gordons (old aerials certainly corroborate something like their style) but I know the course had nine holes in 1918 and 18 as early as 1923.

Tommy N mentioned Lehigh as being underrated. While it very well may be, has any established course climbed as much in the rankings as Lehigh over the last 5 years?

Gerry B et al...

Good points about Peace Portal.  I played there this past year and left shaking my head thinking of the potential that goes untapped there.  A few good holes... wonderful property.

also near Vancouver (though actually in the USA) is Point Roberts - a Graham Cooke/Wayne Carleton design which is quite lovely... fabulous greens... certainly one of Cooke's more mature designs....a couple of weaker holes, and i'm not so sure the ownership has much of clue there either, but there aren't many places near Vancouver/Seattle I'd rather be at 6am in the summer.

go yanks.

Greg,

Played the CC of Scranton two weeks ago and absolutely loved the layout.  The character of the putting surfaces is outstanding.  They have removed many trees that have really opened the place up.  The bunkers however are far from being Travis originals.

The bunkers is all we have left to do at the course.

I'll go with Micheal and say Taconic is one of my favourites that is rarely talked about.
