Golf club seeks to build another 18-hole course on its 506-acre site in Bedminster.

BEDMINSTER -- The Trump National Golf Club is scheduled to go before the Planning Board on Thursday to seek approval for a second 18-hole golf course on 243 acres of its 506-acre site.

The new course will replace proposed houses, which were approved when the property was owned by golf course developer National Fairways. But the Trump organization has said it does not want houses -- for both aesthetic and environmental reasons.

   For the record, this move has been afoot for over 8mos...If the groundwater perc tests don't impact the surrounding land, it will likley happen....ugh...another round of the "greatest BS yada...yada..

The politics are getting nasty. The mayor has recused herself.

Not quite, maybe. A synopsis, maybe leaving something out:

Former Planning Board chairman is now the project manager for Trump National (I must have missed an Apprentice season).
As part of his compensation package he got three memberships, which he could sell. The mayor's husband thought he was in line for one of the memberships. The price is disputed. He didn't get one. He allegedly withdrew the application. The mayor now votes no. A envelope was delivered to a doorstep.
