Muirfield was absolutely fantastic.  It is just a great championship test of golf.  Because it's a links course, it is very difficult to compare it to the great courses here in the US, but it just may be the finest golf course I've ever played.  It is very demanding on all aspects of your game, but it is also very fair as well.....  Dunbar is a great links course about 12 miles east of N Berwick.  The highlight of Dunbar is 14 consecutive holes that run along a thin piece of land between a really large and long stone wall and the Ocean. It is just a spectacular setting.

Congratulations and good luck Jamie. Your succinct comments above re Muirfield ("demanding yet fair") and Dunbar, which I found to be a real hidden gem, are spot on.

Make sure you have a Budweiser (or a Miller Genuine Draft) with Bogey Hendren while down in the great state of Tennessee!

Good Doctor,

Even better, they serve Tennents at The Honors 8)

Regards,

Mike

That's good to know.  Tennents "Velvet" was a favorite of mine during last weeks trip...also, Belhaven's Best, & Guinness Extra Cold.

Jamie:

Congratulations.

But you say you had problems putting at Muirfield? I tell you what---shitcan that long putter of yours or I'm stealing it outta yo bag and shit-canning it myself. You want to use Tommy Armour's old Tommy Armour putter? I'll lend it to you.

"You are a sick, sick man Tom Paul."

Only when I see a young golfer who has the swing and "through the green" style of a Jamie Slonis on the putting greens with that contraption under his chin that looks no different than a five foot long post hole tamper!

Plus, those things gave new meaning to "one club length" relief.  ;)

The USGA/R&A should've been honest about the "one club length" relief rule and put an exception in the Rules that read;

"Except those unstable people who need to play golf with contraptions that look like five foot long post hole tampers."
