That seems to be all it takes.  Nine Bridges and The Bridge are about as Top 100 worthy as Cascata.  Oops, that made it too.  Well, maybe Tom Paul is right and all of these guys really do have no idea what they are looking at.

Perhaps it has to do with how many Bridges you have ... Did Twelve Bridges make it?  Twin Bridges?  Seven Bridges?

Or where the Bridges are ... Did The Bridges at Gale Ranch make it?  Bridges at Rancho Santa Fe?  Bridges at Casino Magic?

For me, The Bridge absolutely deserves to be in the Top 100.  It doesn't fit the minimalist sensibilities of most GCA folks (or mine, usually, for that matter), but the Top 100 recognizes a variety of styles.  I like blondes, brunettes and redheads and so does the GM panel.  IMHO, The Bridge is the best of it's kind - ultra modern, heavily sculpted, visually over-the-top.  Style aside, Bridge has my other qualifications to make such a list:

The property is visually spectacular.  The holes are eminently memorable.  There is strategic interest in nearly every shot.  Hazards reward the successful aggressive play but there is usually an alternate (and less risky) way to play each shot.  Every hole presents a distinct look and assignment, while still fitting in beautifully as part of the whole.  The course fits the land and the layout takes full advantage of the best natural features...  The course is very unique and is unlikely to be confused with any other track.  There is solid variety in length, movement and shape of the par-3, par-4, par-5 holes.

That being my opinion on The Bridge (and I know it has both fans and detractors on this web site), I definitely could debate other inclusions/exclusions from the list.  Trump International vs. Jupiter Hills?  Torrey Pines? Bedminster?  Would rather see The Kingsley Club and perhaps Black Mesa based on photos and reputation but I haven't played either.

The Bridge at San Luis Rey G.C. might be a winner -- though the liability coverage would be daunting.
