Boyne Highlands-Which course is your favorite?
« on: July 16, 2005, 09:58:41 PM »
I played the Hills course for the first time this week. It's not everyday I play a par 73 layout. I enjoyed it but my preference is the still the Heather.

The Ross is too disjointed for my taste. There is no flow to it in trying to recreate these holes.

What's your favorite?

The Heather was the first and the best of all the Boyne Courses.  The Moor does indeed grow on you but the Heather is not only grand fun it requires strategy and shotmaking.  I have always loved it.  It still competes well with all the Nothern Michigan resort courses.

I'm a big fan of the Heather course, there's just something about it.

Another vote for the Heather course.  My wife and I did the Super 5 package several years ago, stayed at Boyne Mountain and played all the courses (unltd golf and instruction - we went just after labor day and it was very uncrowded.  Fantastic value for what they charged then).  I too thought the Ross course was disjointed.  Also, Bay Harbor had a fantastic setting, but so much more could have been done.

Another vote for The Heather.  I have played that course more times than I can count and I never grow tired of it.  The stretch of holes between 7-17 are truely excellent.
