I wouldn't mind playing in 4 hours or more, enjoying the course, my playing partners, as long as no other groups are behind our group ...

I love my 20 degree Mizuno Fli-Hil Utility Clk

I love slightly downhill approach shots where the options are numerous (1st, 2nd, 10th, 16th at Pasatiempo, 4th at Spyglass)

I like Kingsbarn (or was it the caddie)

I like Pajaro

I like Mrs. Toms ... (and for my brunette, I would go with Christy Canyon)

I like scraggly turf and rough ...

I really, really liked Scotland ... and a special shout-out to Anstruthers Fish and Chips

I like Pat Mucci's use of bold and color ...

I like a good sippin' tequila over single-malt any day ...

I like Kummel ...

I too dislike taking a caddy, though I have nothing against them or those who take them.

I don't get Tidewater in Myrtle Beach.

I like when I shoot a good score, though don't get all that upset over a bad one.

I like changing my shoes in the parking lot.

I like the 18th at Royal New Kent.  :o  Its great fun to watch shots into that green from the clubhouse.  My favorite hole on that course is the 8th, even though its often panned.

I love the Links course at Grand National & don't care that its not an RTJ or a links.

I have never been to Scotland or Ireland.  I'd prefer to go to Australia first if possible.

I like my new driver.

Here's a couple I'm sure to get flamed for: ;)

I like the newer bunker's at Merion better than the old.  I think they are more difficult than the previous bunkers, and they are starting to evolve and age nicely.

I really like my long putter and have used one for over 10 years now.

I DON"T think Michael Jackson is innocent. He frightens me, and his past actions have done nothing to make me believe otherwise.

I also played a very good Fazio last week...Forest Creek.(Pinehurst)  I also played 9 holes of his new course there and liked it better than the original course.

As for golf courses and women, I don't mind eye candy.

On the tee, I'm more worried about getting my ball into play than I am about the correct angle of attack into the green.

I like drop shot par threes (the shorter, the better).

I like architects who are neither dead nor Doak (although I like them too).

I'm a shallow visual learner...so I tend to admire Fazio's work (Jim Engh's too for that matter).

I spend too much time thinking about things like this.

I like that people die and then new people come along and do what the dead did better...I also like that people get a lot worse at what ever they do before they die...as a matter of fact some guys get so bad that they are asked to quit and then die because they miss it so much....that is just funny as hell..

I like the fact Mike Benham a) knows who Christy Canyon is and b) has the gumption to post his preference for her on this site.

I like JakaB's ramblings.  My batting average is about .667 at knowing for sure what the hell he means.

I like 3-wedge sets
I'm not wild about Winged Foot West, Oakmont where the green speeds are ridiculous
I love Tobacco Road
I don't like Medinah, Baltusrol-Lower, East Lake or The Olympic Club
Fazio has his place in golf course architecture. He's just being hired by too many developers, and I enjoy some of his courses like Pine Barrens and The River Course.
I wish Pete Dye would stop with the par 5,3, long 4 (water left) finish
Johnny, it's still up and down, not up and in
I don't like all Raynor's courses with their geometrics and same old copied holes copies.
I wish people would play from the right tees - macho men
I wish Nicklaus would have never started pre-shot routines and exact yardages
Throw all yardage indicators, incl shrubs in the garbage - that's part of the skill of the game
Thank God for oversized drivers and perimeter weighting, and how did I putt with a bullseye
Forbid all slow golfers, cameras and orientals who have no clue from playing Pebble --and redesign about 5 holes.
Not all Donald Ross courses are good or even fairly good and many are over-rated -- particularly the ones he never saw

I liked Kingsbarns.

I liked Old Head, a lot.

Rees Jones designed my home course and I like it too.

I like watching on TV when the tour guys make tons of birdies and shoot really low scores.

I not only like golf carts, I like it when they have GPS.

For those of you looking at GCA at work and are not familiar with Ms Christy Canyon I would not suggest that you google her. If you must be careful with the links you click on.

Mike Hendren,

Carter?  And you admit it in public?

As a yellow dog, you seem to have a lot of company here.  The lovely Mrs. McBride claims to be one.  But how could you have voted for Bush, the antithesis of Jimmy if there is one.  Come to think of it, I sensed that something was not right at Cuscowilla.  I wrote it off then to an off day on the links, but now I have a better explanation.  I am sure that there is some medicine for what ails you.

Huckaby,

Your top three really disappoint me, but I bet your stock went up with the SoCal folks.  Does Clorox know that it has been infiltrated by the enemy?

Mark Brown,

How can you not like the "O" Club?  You enjoy River so I guess that you're not a complete wacko.

For my benefit, can you detail how one should determine which set of tees is appropiate to play?  Is it a function of handicap or the ability to reach the greens in regulation with well executed shots?

Billsteele,

I am with you 100%.

I'll start.  I like drop shot par 3's and hang time tee shots.

Please tell me you're joking - these are quite possible my two least favorite things in the game! :)

If pressed for what I like, I'd say I like Jeff Fortson's post. And I like the idea of making Huck tell us what he doesn't like. Besides that Ranch course.

I think that for a sizable percentage of people the love of singlemalt scotch is an affectation.

I think that we are at the very beginning of a long protracted death spiral for the PGA Tour.

I think that Billy Bell should receive far more credit than he does for the work he did with George Thomas.

I think that after you get past the top ten courses in the state the quality of golf course architecture in California is pretty weak.

I like the Grace Course, even though many GCA members have panned the course.  I even liked caddying it during my formative years.

I absolutely prefer Sierra Nevada pale ale and celebration ale over any mass produced beer.  I only "like" Budweiser because they are such a large financial supporter of Man Utd and helps fund the transfer kitty every year.

I absolutely hate Barbara Boxer and consider her an embarrasment as one of our two senators.  How I hate the fact that Bruce Herschenshon got caught visiting a strip club during that campaign, or else she would be relegated to Greenbrae permanently.

I like caddy programs and hate carts--a teenager can learn quite a great deal about the idiotic actions of adults and how not to replicate them later in life.  Further, it is a great way on how to learn to play poker.

I like the Eisenhower course at Industry Hills and much prefer it over pretty much anything in Orange County.

I like Jose Mourinho.

I like the combination of Laura Ingraham and Jim Rome in the morning.

I hate the fact that Rather has left the anchor's chair because we no longer have the ability of kicking that dog around anymore.

I like Johnnie Walker and wish I could afford the blue label.

Even though the Ford Championship was a birdie and eagle fest, it was compelling television and tremendous for the game.

Trees on a golf course should be used few and far between.

I like using the Amateur or CPC as "dummy runs" before an Open or USPGA.  I just wish the PGA of America got it right before the set up of Whistling Straits for the 2004 USPGA championship.

There are aspects to T Fazio's designs that demonstrate he has the ability to learn and expand his horizons.

I think Pete Dye is overrated and, more or less, lost the plot after building Sawgrass in the early 1980s.

As much as the Pirates have a hard time competing in baseball's free market system, I believe the free market system and no salary caps are best for professional athletics.

As a sign of integrity, even if I were to die of hunger, I would never get a cheesesteak from Pat's or Geno's!

I like Hidden Creek more than Merion East.

I like Winged Foot East more than West.

I like Beechtree more than Stonewall.

I also post on Bombsquadgolf.com.

I actually think Matt Ward knows what he is talking about.

If I actually do get the invite to Augusta, I won't give it up to one of my GCA friends.

I think BC is overated.

Their are times when riding in carts beat walking.

Often times I would rather caddy for a good player than play my self.

I like listening to Johnny Miller.

I really, really like Chevy Chase even if arthur hills did totally redo the place.

The Patriots are better than the Eagles

Maryland does not deserve to be in the tournament.

I spend WAY too much time on GCA  ;D

Jason

ps. Pete, you really don't like Tidewater? I love it, funky routing or not ;)
