Funny, because my least favorite holes are the par 3s, specially #3. I like the par 5s very much though I would guard the second shots a bit more with bunkers. I think that 18 is a wonderful hole, a true three shoter for most of us into or quartering the perevailing wind and a green that requires good positioning of the second shot.
To me Harbour Town is just a dog-legged bowling alley with small greens. It seems that on a number of holes you only have one side of the fairway to hit to, otherwise you have to bend the approach shot. In my opinion, the greens and surrounds at Harbour Town are not very imaginative. Because they are so small and irregularly shaped, one needs a good chipping game. But unless you get in the wiry bermuda, chipping is not that big of a deal. Talk about a site that is flat in most places. And the bunkers are nothing to brag about. I do like the finishing holes there.
To each his own, I guess. As TE Paul says, golf is a big tent.
