Hi Friends,
Tom Paul asked me a great question a few minutes ago - "Matt - Where the hell have you been?"
I now live in Manhattan, and I'm in grad school for psychology at Columbia University. That's the good news.
The bad news is, I haven't played a round of golf since July. Manhattan has been bad for my golf game.
Here is a quick timeline since the last time I spoke to many of you:
-December 2002: Returned from Australia
-May 2003: Graduated from University of Oklahoma
-Summer 2003: Worked at amazing summer camp at Stanford; went back in 2004 and will be there in 2005.
-September 2004: Moved to San Francisco, worked at a group home with violent kids. Only got hit in the face twice. Played some golf in the spring. Hit a 427-yard drive at Roddy Ranch.
-August 2004: Everything I owned (golf clubs, clothes, etc.) stolen from my car.
-September 2005: Moved to Manhattan. Living on campus at Columbia. I have my own room. It's this big ---> []
Honestly, things have been rough since I moved here. I'm unsure about a lot of things (especially my career) and very far from a lot of things that have always been there for me (golf, the West Coast). I'm really starting to miss golf.
So that's my short story. I'd love to catch up with people I haven't spoken to in a while. And, if anyone in NYC is reading this, please say hello!
Cheers,
Matt Cohn
