Jonathan,

Between Wilmington and Spyglass, they are so different I find it hard to compare, although I did play both this year. I actually like Wilmington, probably just due to the difficulty factor. In the minority on this website for sure. I'm a member at Aldarra, so I'm obviously biased, (and I'm normally not a huge Fazio fan, with the exception of World Woods and Galloway), but it is quite a good golf course IMHO.

Sean - you are a lucky man - I think Alderra may be the best course in Washington.  I would place it higher than Black Rock.  JC

Steve,

Considering the chance to play with the relatives and avoid the pre-day chaos of a wedding, I'm shocked that Raleigh CC didn't makes your list  ;)  Next time we'll have to bring out the really-cute cart-girls!

Favorite Old from this year:  1.Garden City 2.Shinnecock
3.Oakmont 4.Peachtree 5.Camargo
Favorite Modern from this year: 1.Harbour Town 2.Hidden Creek 3.Cuscowilla 4.Valhalla 5.Galloway National

I don't have a return trip course to talk about because my emphasis is always on playing new courses.  The one exception would be Beechtree which I love to play over and over again and will never get tired of.
