The most remarakable thing about England are the heathland courses. I have played about 70 links courses in the Isles and about fifty elsewhere. I think links golf in a wind where the conditions are questionable, according to "Augusta" standards, is wonderful, my idea of heaven. Pennard and Westward Ho! are a joy and gifts to be treasured. Yet, I keep returning to the heaqthland courses in and around London. Wenetworth is not heathland and doesn't "delight" the player. BUT LET ME PLAY SUNNINGDALE, WALTON HEATH THE BERKSHIRE ET AL, and I'm one happy Norwegian. It plays fast and firm and .... Somebody help me.
