keep an eye on barry lane for those wanting to favour a long shot from the mature community. now at 4 under, he has had 5 two's out of eight short holes in his two rounds. how i regret not placing my bet overnight when he was 81-1.

If Barry Lane wins the BBGE will donate 81 golf balls to the junior golf program of your choice....if the field wins you will send one golf ball to the proram of my choice....deal..

Phillip,

Please send the one golf ball of your choice to:

Junior Golf co Doug Brown
Lawrence County Country Club
RR. 2
Lawrenceville, IL 62439

Please make sure it is one of full size...we don't allow play with those tiny British balls that used to be all the rage.

Phillip,

I was wondering why you didn't respond on Friday...the day of your original post.   I was nervous for a while..just the postage on 81 balls would kill the BBGE coffers.....just save the postage and give a new ball to some kid you never met...it will make his day and mine.

JB -

Isn't that the truth! When I was in Scotland, I gave a ball to a young Scottish boy and the look in his eyes was priceless. I ended up doing this a half dozen times and the results were always the same. Fortunately I played well and didn't need all the balls I brought along, but it was cool to see the expression in a child after giving them a ball.
