Randomly stumbled my way onto this thread in the archives and thought I'd bring it back as I am a new poster here.

John Ezekowitz
21 years old
Senior at Harvard, majoring in economics
I am an analytics consultant for the Phoenix Suns, and upon graduation plan to enter the world of finance
Home Courses: Springdale (Princeton, NJ), Belmont CC (Belmont, MA)
Handicap: 1.2

I first found this site when I was lucky enough to go on a 20-day tour of England in 2008 with 8 other American HS golfers. I wanted to find out about the courses I was going to play, and found Ran's writeups on Rye, Sunningdale and Royal St. George's. I didn't know about the discussion group at the time, and only realized it was here about a year ago, when I started lurking.

Haven't met many GCA'ers in person yet, but I hope to change that soon.

I was not. I walked on to the team for one season before it became clear that the caliber of Ivy League golf and the caliber of my game were not advancing in the same direction. Did you meet the team?

I'm curious about this. "Analytics consultant."
As in the business side of the team or as is the players stat side of it?
Perhaps you can't answer that. Do most teams have a similar consultant a la "Money Ball?"

Player stats side. For simplicity, think Jonah Hill's role in Moneyball. I'd say close to 20 NBA teams now have either full or part time basketball analytics consultants.
