Gentlemen, at the end of the day, the only one issue with Rees Jones' work has been identified by this extraordinary thread, which must now be a full fledged garment! We would all respect him more, regardless of our present feelings, if his modus operandi where what he claimed in this article. Love his work, like his work or hate his work, no matter. We want architects to prefer nature's hand to their own. We want architects to revere the classic courses, to enjoy them for their own play and to seek them out.

I still think Poppy Ridge is a darn fine course - all three nines.

How can you have three 9's?  It's like a baseball field with 1.5 diamonds.  No?

Rich - good point - any combination of two nines there makes for a fine golf course.  I do like all three nines.

But mainly, thanks for recognizing the effort to get this thread back to its former lofty perch.

She doesn't play a Rees Jones course but I am excited that our most popular teaching pro at Norwood Hills, Joe D. has been selected to be on Big Break V in Hawaii.  It's funny because Liz from the first big break is a member there.

JK - she looks sweet in the Big Break V calendar - Miss April.

Jo D. is April...That is embarrassing to see your pro like that..She is one hell of a teacher and organizer...damn.

JK - I made the correction - something got lost in my brain from the cut and paste to the post here.

 ;D

But yes, assuming she is far more than a pin-up girl - and I'll take your word for it there - it does rather suck the lengths these women have to go to to get on the show.  But this is TV after all, and no one is holding a gun to her head.  Besides, the picture is very nice.

I will be rooting for her once the airings begin.

I went through the rest of the calendar and her pic may be the most tasteful....If she had posed like November I might never go back.   Looks like I will be watching reruns when my wife is asleep again..I've still got her convinced that pretty girls don't golf.

Yes, wise NOT to let her see this series.  I have to believe that golf skills were not exactly the top criterion in the choosing of the competitors.

Golf skills are going to play an important role this year.  I just got my newsletter is why I know that the first episode will be a play in to the show.  It's kinda neat (even though I never did it with Liz) in that the club has a party for each airing of the show with the Jo D there to comment.   I hope she does as well as Liz because this year the crowds should be huge.  Liz has lost a ton of weight and recently won a national long drive contest...we don't get many celebrities around these parts and its cool to walk by when she is hitting balls on the range.

Oh golf skills will decide who wins, for sure.  I'm just thinking that was about #3 criterion at best as for who makes the "cast" to begin with - that is those even invited to play-in.

And I'm betting on Ashley - Miss May - for this year's Danielle.  But there are several other worthy candidates.

So who is the connection at Norwood Hills? No way one midwestern club lands two spots under the lights in one year. Is Vince Cellini a member there?

May, nice choice but I'm betting the head only shot is hiding a bigger problem.  I gotta go with November..

Well this has nothing top do with cigars, but the only one that has a chance in the BB is FEB......Tiger woods in drag. That is whay he was off so much he was filming the big break.
I mean it is uncanny!!!

JK - good point re the potential problem with Miss May.  We shall see.  But of course I'm thinking slutty attitude as being a big part of what makes up the answer of "who's gonna be this year's Danielle"?  May just seems to be showing a leer the others don't - not to mention appearing in a waterfall....

And Bill, when did this thread EVER have anything to do with cigars?

I believe May is sporting a bit of a silicone valley. That gives her an edge in the Daniellesque mold.

WOW!  That is uncanny.  I didn't notice that before.  This gal is the sister of a current tour pro from the Bay Area - Dorothy Delasin - great player.  I guess I have someone else to root for - didn't notice there's a homegirl.

But my work here is done.  This thread returns to its lofty perch.  Well done, gentlemen.
