Set a new personal record for stroke differential between 9s:
went OUT in 37, came back IN in 51
My recent 48-37 is less differential but much more satisfying!
(Not sure how I got the wheels back on after that first nine, but it was fun.)
This wasn't this year but once I played in a junior tournament once (Matheson Greens near Traverse City, MI) in which I shot 55 (+19) on the front and 32 (-4) on the back (at the time tied for course record on the back). Had a "Tin Cup" incident in which I took an 18 on a par 5 on my 2nd hole. 6 straight into the water trying to cut the dog leg on a par 5. I was pretty pleased that I recovered nicely but was pretty upset that I waisted a good round.
Also, I played in the Michigan Junior Open a number of years ago at Black Bear Golf Resort near Gaylord, MI and I started out triple-bogey, double-bogey, quadruple-bogey, double-bogey my first 4 holes (+11 after 4). Then the next 68 holes shot 3-under for a 3rd place +8.
Needless to say, used to pretty streaky. Now I'm consistently underachieving.
