Golf shirts?????

I have zero logo shirts. Its not that I dislike them-I think some of them are pretty nice-its that I'm too cheap to buy any.

I have about 35 currently. I also try to go to the top rack when at a great course. I wear my Joey Rodolfo from Sand Hills sparingly.

But, those that have played golf with me probably noticed I perspire more than anyone else they know. I go through one a side on days like last week, needing a third after hitting the showers. But, I have two that are obscure brands that have my best friends business logo on them that he purchased for promotion in his business 15years ago! He is in the Italian food wholesale biz and his shirts were the traditional Red, Green, White. Sort of hoaky color, but I love them. I have a red and a green one. I wear them several times a year. They can not be worn out. I have never seen any shirt hold up like that. Not even those I've paid $150 for. I have tried to find that brand everywhere including looking on the internet. But, I can't find those particular ones. If I could, I'd buy a dozen of them. They are the most comfortable, sweat can't damage them, and the fabric (50% cotton, 40% polyester) can't seem to be worn out. BRand name, "Di Minzoni" made in the Phillipines. They wear like iron, feel soft as silk, and really show off my nippies.

I scored a really cool Rosasen golf sweater (lightweight variety) at Bandon Dunes last year. Very comfortable with snazzy argyle elbow patches. Rosasen makes some great stuff for the "coveted 18-35 demographic."

As for shirts, I really like what Dunning Golf is doing these days. Their stuff is really comfortable, breathes beautifully, wicks moisture well, etc. Fabrics that get into all kinds of technical territory but still look sharp. Check them out, dunninggolf.com.

Last time I or I should say my wife counted to make fun of me I had around 175 golf shirts. Its amazing what one can round up in a year. My favorite brands are Polo and Fairway and Greene. I like the Addidas and Nike Tech shirts.

I count over 40 and the vast majority of them are Ashworth. Absolutely the best fitting and the collars to not curl. Just gave away about 30 of them when we moved so I too have the habit. Cannot go into a pro shop without looking at the 2XL Ashworths they may have.

Please count me in for half a dozen of the Fa TaSS brand. Logo on the sleeve. I understand you can order them by the hundred at ABC Tent and Awning.

By the way, you can find some great deals on never worn high-quality golf shirts at eBay. I get the feeling that some touring pros sell their freebies on eBay - I've purchased some Ashworth shirts with the logos you see on TV.

I don't like being a billboard for a shirt company, but the price is right.

I am 6'2" and need em long and also like 'em long in the sleeve, over the elbow. Ashworth always feels good.

Man, some of you guys really are shirt whores! I have 11 shirts, 7 of which have my club's logo on them. One has my company logo and one is from Pinehurst. My current favorite is a "Hang Em Dry" Tehama. Lightweight and very cool in the humidity. We get very* good prices on shirts in our pro shop. I'm not partial to any brand. The closet currently holds C&B, Nike, Ashworth, Tehama, Nick Price, Bobby Jones, and Polo.

The thing that frustrates the crap out of me is how large golf shirts are cut. I'm not a small dude - 6', 195lbs - and I cannot wear a large. All of my shirts are medium. I can't stand them to be huge and baggy through the chest and arms.

I rarely buy shirts at other courses unless it's something special (like the Pinehurst 2005 US Open shirt on my 40th birthday trip last year). Why should I pay $85 to do their advertising when I can usually buy the same shirt with my club's logo for 40% less?

I can't believe I'm adding to this off-topic on golf shirts...but here I go....

A few years ago DiFini Sportswear came out with a quality men's apparel line that included golf shirts. Each shirt style was named after an accomplished player (all deceased gentlemen) i.e. Tony Lema, Lloyd Mangrum, George Bayer. They also tagged one golf shirt "The Moore Minister" which I found quite interesting.

Months later, I had a chat with the president of DiFini Sportswear who tried to convince me that the shirt they called "The Moore Minister" was named after a deceased gentleman, who'd been an accomplished golfer with professional status. I told him he was incorrect.... that Moore Minister was female, far from an accomplished athlete, and not dead yet.

He was a little taken back by my response, especially when I mentioned there was no Mr. Moore Minister in golf, and that my last name was actually Moore Minister. He soon recognized the research error on DiFini's part and apologized.

I told him I didn't mind having a man's golf shirt named after me (actually, I thought it was rather sweet) but next time he might consider me for his women's line instead, as it might make for a better fit.

The last time I did my golf shirt laundry I washed 72 shirts (Personal Record). I probably have about 130 golf shirts of which 100 are white. I am often questioned about my proclivity for white golf shirts. The answer is simple, white goes with everything and does not show sweat stains.

My favorite shirts are basic Cutter Buck cotton pique which are both comfortable and affordable. When you buy as many shirts as I do the Fairway and Greens and Bobby Jones shirts could quickly break the bank. I typically buy a shirt when I do a Golf Digest rating of a course.

I have about 150 and one of which is white. My shirts are all washed in cold water and my wife irons them all. (It is part of our "deal") I have begun to give shirts to my brothers to thin out some of my collection. Orange is my predominant color and Fairway & Green are my first choice. Although I do like the new Nike drifit stuff, but it is undersized.

I usually purge about 25 per years out due to wear/size etc.
The vast majority are Nicklaus shirts.
I have a white rack of about 50.

Give me Ashworth or give me death! I also have a fondness for Norman's, Izod, Cutter/Buck, and Callaway.

If we're not counting the dozen or so still in the closet that I use only for mowing the grass, nor the other dozen that the bettter half has weeded out for Good Will, I'm in the neighborhood of 75-80. Anything less would be uncivilized.

And for my upcoming trip to California, there are 10 new additions, mostly Ashworth, being readied for the suitcase as we speak.

The best shirt that I ever saw in a strange location was a green cotton one, with a big Peterbuilt truck logo with 'Johnson's Corner..Loveland, Colorado' emblazoned on the surrounds, this at....... Augusta National.

I could e-mail a picture of it if someone could out it on the site, I don't know how to do this.

After buying a Greg Norman Play Dry moisture-wicking shirt earlier this (ultra-hot) summer, I've decided that I've purchased my last cotton shirt. Clima-cool, Nike Dri -- probably the same stuff. It's fantastic -- the sweat evaoporates, rather than creating a map of North America across your belly.

One question -- do these shirts keep you warmer in cold weather? Seems like they would.
