An Apology To All of NoCal (Non-Architectural)

I returned late last evening from three days in Sonoma County just in time to watch my Titans close the deal against Da Raiders (with the help of a dubious force-out TD call).

Henceforth, I pledge my KP allegiance to NoCal and shall never make another disparraging remark against the great state of California.  Give me Monterey and Sonoma County and I could happily tolerate Governor Davis, Coleman, or Terminator.

You are welcome any time here, Mr. Hendren.  And yes, you saw among the best of what this state has to offer.

Thank you also for acknowledging that horrid call.  The Titans still deserved to win, but that was hard to take.   :'( :'( :'(

 Glad you had a good trip. Thats why I'll never leave this area, even though it costs a king's ransom to live around here.
The Sierras, Sonoma county, Monterey, etc..., not to mention a few decent golf courses. ;)

Mike, The Game was horrendous as far as far as the officials were concerned. This is what ruins it for me about professional football. When yo have the officials take over the Game and it seemed like every play was a penalty,and that may have not been too far off.

The Raiders showed some great resilency last night. The Titans showed the importance of having a home crowd. There is little doubt in my mind that Eddie George better start planning that career as a golf architect, because he showed he is much less then he once was in regards to playing.

Any team whose punter makes three field goals, one of 49 yards, deserves to win.

Any team who fields a ball going out of bounds on an errant kickoff, dumps the ball to Garner in the middle of the field to burn 24 seconds, then makes 2 half assed attempts, including a last play dump off again to Garner, deserves to lose.

Tommy,

The kicker/punter was a Golden Domer - injured in the first half of the dramatic comeback by my Vols to beat ND in South Bend several years back.  Hentrich  was unable to attempt the game ending field goal that would have negated the tremendous  TN comeback.  His sub had the attempt blocked by the hip of one Jeremy Lincoln as Mr. Mucci looked on ;D

I pull my handicap card from the same sheet as Hentrich and noted recently that he is a +1.  

Eddie George no longer is the prototypical NFL running back and he has too many carries under his belt to boot.  I did read recently that he has done some residential landscape architecture for a few high end homes in town - so he might see the writing on the wall as well.  Why hand off to ANYBODY on third down when you have Steve McNair?

Mike, This is true, McNair was unflappable last night on 3rd down. It didn't seem like they faile don thrid down maybe once or twice, it got that bad. Still, I think when you have a game that is being controlled by yellow flags, it is going to ruin the flow for both sides. Personally, I think the Game was ugly other then McNair and Hentrich's perfomances. Also, I think that our Romo may be one of the most vicious, if not prolific linebackers to ever play the Game.

As a former Titan's season ticket holder it was nice to see them avenge last years defeats.  They looked once again like the team that Al Del Greco ruined a few years ago.  It still pains me to type his name.  The flags were ridiculous on both sides, which is more typical for the Raiders.  The Raiders did not look as good as last year however.  Reagarding Eddie George, it is true that he's taken a beating, but he didn't see a lot of holes last night, and the the focus of the offense has changed from him to Air McNair.  Romo i effective, but he lost his marbles a long time ago.

Perhaps The Game might take something from Our Game; let the players call their own penalties and do away with the "officials" on the green . . . er, ah, field.  They could then accept call-in penalties from armchair officials, and decide in the box whether TDs would count fully, count partially, or not count at all, depending upon the severity of the infraction.

Of course, their rulebook would have to be re-written, making it completely and coldly objective, so that human error wouldn't enter the decision making process, thus coloring the results.  A side benefit would be that football pros would, over time, become more trustworthy, making them worthy of the name "gentlemen."

Or not.
