What is on your Christmas wish list?
« on: December 14, 2007, 04:49:38 AM »
I know for me it is regaining strength in my right arm after a bout and surgery on a stubborn disc that did a number on the nerve down my arm.  I guess I should stay out of the trees when I ski this year.

Golf wise. Get back to either Ireland or England and renew old acquaintances. This year is the first year since 1993 that I haven't been there.

To live the life of Tommy Williamson. Powder skiing out West and golfing on a couple of continents sounds pretty good to me! I have only been to Ireland and England once since 1993  :'(

PS. I know, I know. Nobody is crying for me, but I am on the B Team compared to Tommy.

Christmas is all about the kids, and what they want. My Christmas wish is delight on their faces come Christmas morning.

However, when my wife asked, I did mention that I could use a copy of "Anatomy of a Golf Course."

I'll second Kirk's thoughts, it is all about the kids. I do need to tell my 8 year old Santa isn't real because she gave me her "wish" list and I told her that it was pretty expensive. Her response was "it's okay daddy, Santa gets these to us for free". Yikes!

My wish list is to play Augusta National at some point while I am healthy enough to enjoy it. Peace on Earth would be a good thing too.

I wish the red bucket bell ringers would give out something like Poppies so the next guy you see would stay out of your face.  I also wish they would be less paranoid and cut a bigger hole in the bucket so you didn't have to establish a personal relationship just to dump 35 cents.

reminds me of what my youngest daughter told someone a few weeks ago Jim.....

first of all it's important for this story to note that my wife is a nurse so she really tries to have the kids eat healthy stuff, etc.

anyway, the topic about whether Santa and the Easter Bunny are real or not, to which my youngest - Anna - said "Oh I know they are!"..how can you be so sure somone replied??
Anna then said "cause there is no way that my mom would get me all that candy!"

my wishes:  peace and a healthy and safe 2008 for all (and lots of great golf courses for me too ;))

I hope Lloyd's knee gets better and he revisits after it is solid.  My victory was hollow this year and I'd like a crack at a healthy Lloyd.  Bring it on!

And just think, maybe you can get old while you are at it.  Being the low guy on the totem pole will prove to be the best time of your life.

I have two children and three grandchildren in MN. I am going there on Jan 30th to teach the twin six years old boys to ski and see my granddaughter for the first time.  I pray that they grow strong in body, sound of mind, with an abiding faith.
That is my wish for all children.

Thanks, Tommy.

John K, thanks for the laugh - combining "a personal relationship" with "35 cents" is very funny.

Things are well for me, so the icing on the cake would be the chance to watch (yet again) Alastair Sims in "The Christmas Carol", even if only the last 20 minutes.

I know my employees will be happy (I do not treat them like I was treated when I worked for someone else), and I know my kids will be happy, now if I could only find the right gift for my wife, I would know she would be happy too. Any ideas from the treehouse?

Pinehurst and Kohler have great spas, so give her a 2-day visit to one of them...of course, being a gentleman you will accompany her on the trip, and since she'll be so busy getting pampered you get to play some great golf!

Jim,
Give her one of our books for Christmas  ;D  Only 130 left from the first printing and they are gone.  Or you could give her a two night stay in beautiful Allentown, PA.   She could go to the Promenade shopping and you, Gregg and me could go play Lehigh  ;)

Mark -

Send me a book. Where do I send the check? PM me if you'd like.

I think that spa deal sounds like a plan. I am already taking her to Rome in April, shouldn't that count for something?

i DID remember you are taking her to Rome, but not sure if that was her Xmas present or at least part of it..

Kohler also has the one very upscale restaurant where you can get a 9 course meal...quite nice

I think a trip to Kohler would be great. Nuts, I forgot I was going back to The Greenbrier again so that limits my trip potential. Problems.... ;).
