Guess Where-part 3

Okay, this should be real easy, however I wanted to point out the features in the background that are no longer in existence.

Well done Kalen. The photo is from the '29 Amateur. Notice all the tree's lining the edge. I wonder how much of a factor they came into play to determine the line off the tee. Any thoughts anyone?

I'm trying to figure out how they took this picture. The camera must have been on a low boom off a boat or from a blimp!

Now if the biggest reward comes from taking the shortest route to the hole, then you have to admire this player for the risk he was able to successfully manage.

Is the player in the middle hitting his third shot to the green? If so, it seems to be an an odd angle. Have changes been made to the shoreline since then?

Bob, Significant changes have been made to the shoreline. During the Japanese ownership period, they were excellent stewards of the GC. Not only building the new wall on 18 but also on 9 and 10, just in case sea levels rose.

It really is a tough picture to figure out. In the background, you can see the flag for what must be the Yacht Club. I'd assume the picture was taken from across the cove with a long range lens. Does anyone know if such a lens was available in '29?

The golfer has to be near where the existing wall is near the second dogleg, bunker.

The photo is then taken from 25-50 yards behind the green, on the cliff.

If you take a look at an aerial, this is the only logical conclusion.
