Look for a course near Memphis called Big Creek. The back nine was rather interesting. The front nine? Well, let's just say it is simple.
Big Creek is one of the courses I used to play in my early golf years! Front nine all back and forth and very easy to get some holes confused. Similar, but I wouldn't really say simple - especially for a bad golfer at the time. The back nine was definitely much more interesting and enjoyable. There were some cool holes back there.
My favorite thing about the course in the early nineties was that they had just converted to public or semi-private from private and they had this big chip on their shoulder. You could call and ask about tee times and they'd say things like "We're really packed" or "It will be hard to work you in" but if you showed up and walked on at almost any time / any day there was never ANYONE there. The parking had fewer cars than Sand Hills.
Haven't been there for years. Maybe once since they converted to Championship Bermuda greens many years ago.
