C.B. is in the WGHOF
« on: June 13, 2007, 01:17:18 PM »
I don't know if this has been mentioned here, but CBM has been inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame. What took so freakin' long! Here's the info courtesy of Shack.

They had to first survey the evidence that CB designed Merion by trying to find the Alps hole there.   ;D

I will have to do some research but I guaranteed such on the announcement of Old Macdonald.  If Hogan looked over my shoulder he wouldn't believe it.

I've heard both bitter and demented used and either would likely apply.

Incorrigible works too.  ;)

Incorrigible Mike, has David M permanently left the premises since then?

Sadly, it seems.

Same for Tom MacWood.

I'm hoping they both come back soon because I'm certain they're lurking and want to participate.  They're both good guys and we all just got too personally inflammatory.

Mike,

If you really care why not reach out to the guys in private instead of just making another flippant remark at the expense of a thread?  I think I could get David's phone number if you would like to give him a call as I honestly doubt he is checking in here hanging on your every word.

John,

How do you know I haven't?

Your apology skills could use some work.  The few times you have apologized to me have always seemed to have been cloaked in sarcasm.

John,

What makes you think I apologized or felt that I needed to?

I'm sorry that you feel my apologies have been soaked in sarcasm.   Sometimes, my attempts to keep levity here may be misinterpreted when read through a dry medium just as your attempts at being the self-appointed ombudsman of this website sometimes come off as just being a dick.

John,

Be honest, you must admit, your telling this to Cirba very much fits the "pot calling the kettle black".

Mike,
Talked to Tom MacWood this morning and he has no desire what-so-ever to ever come back. At least for right now, and sadly this website will suffer for it. His research, his opinions are greatly missed.

Tommy,

I'm very sorry to hear that.  He was a tremendous contributor and I wish that things were different.

Ken,
The approval committee probably doesn't even know who he is....

"He's the guy who designed Winged Foot.......

"Winged Foot?"

"Yeah, Winged Foot...."

"I thought Tom Fazio designed Winged Foot?"

"Yeah, I thought he did too, but it was actually some guy named Tillinghast....."

Hey, that's fitting, since I was playing Macdonald the past two days in Bandon.

We did let George B. put in the flag on the site of the Redan to be.
