GCA Contest: Who will win the U.S. Open?
« on: June 09, 2007, 06:01:21 PM »
Here we go! First, a quick leaderboard update with the Masters already in the books:

Dean Paolucci: 1 point
Everybody except Dean Paolucci: 0 points

Also, a rules clarification: choosing the winner is worth 3 points. Correctly answering the bonus question is worth 1 point.

Entries are due before the first teeshot on Thursday.

1) Who will win the U.S. Open?

2) Bonus question: Who will be low South African?

There are seven South Africans in the field. In order of their OWGR, they are: Ernie Els, Retief Goosen, Rory Sabbatini, Trevor Immelman, Charl Schwartzl, Tim Clark, and Darren Fichardt. You'll earn a point if your player is the low or tied for low South African after 72 holes.

1) Just joshing...I thought it said "low South Arkansan".  ;D

If he wasn't voted "Most Likely to be shot and killed in a domestic incident" before this week, he's certainly moved to the top of that sad heap.

I have no idea who will win at Oakmont.   In the spirit of fun, and to give me someone to root for, I'll pick Colin Montgomerie, casting aside all of those Major demons.
