While I'm hoping to meet directly with Dan and Mike at the soonest possible mutually available date, I have checked with the ex-director of golf at Lawsonia, Jeff Penkowitz, who now runs a pretty nice pub and grub restaurant about < a mile from Lawsonia's gate. He said he could accomodate about 30 people for a private room dinner, and would ask that we have no more than two or three selections for dinner so he can get it out promptly to us. Then, we will have a room for our round-table discussions or presentations. I'll confirm that with Penkowitz and finalize it with Dan and Mike ASAP.
I am still going to try to get some input from the Lawsonia superintendent about the restoring process he undertook, and there is another great super in the area that had some outstanding restoration-remodelling done at his very private, very fine classic gem. I can't put him on the spot right now without talking to him first. Obviously, after 36 holes and the time it takes to eat dinner, we won't have all night to make presentations and such, yet there is so much to see and discuss. So, I suggest that someone that has a nice laptop that can play a CD or DVD with a presentation of some of this remodelling, have that available for any splinter group that wants to look beyond the allotted time we can all share at the dinner. I have the CD of the work at that other club I mentioned above, and the pictures of the work are as good as I've seen detailing such work. But, I don't have a laptop to show folks.
